Ethical Issues in Educational Sectors

Due to the changing nature of society more and more issues have become the responsibility of the educational institution and I am not sure our schools, colleges and universities are prepared to handle them.   Still the issues fall into three categories: curriculum, th e student,  the educators. What should remain of the curriculum as it stands? What should be taught to students today? Science has provided so much information and technology has changed us all forever.  So what gets taught and what gets left out? Students deserve to be informed as in traditions, morals and beliefs, but they also deserve to be informed about fact and that which is speculation  and fiction?  Religion has its place but I think this needs to be re-evaluated as to what goes in to the textbooks.  Does the curriculum reflect the society by including minorities?  Discrimination and racism still exist so wil l the curriculum reflect  these  Women ? “ Where Love Begins” I constantly marvel at the opportunities that come my way to reflect upon so many things.  I am a firm believer in thinking that what we need in life will present itself in some form. So in recent days, I have had many opportunities to reflect upon family, friends, society, our beautiful world and, indeed, the miracle of this great Universe! It has been without a doubt the most difficult year of my life.  Illness, death, changes all take their toll and yes throw you into a state of deep reflection and at this moment in time, I find myself wondering what has happened to us as human beings?  Where did compassion and caring for one other go?
